ROBERT
MARTIN
My journey in technology began in 1995, when I stepped into the world of government sales as Vice President for a wholesale supplier in Huntsville, Alabama. From the very start, I was drawn to the intersection of service, strategy, and innovation.
By 2002, as the digital age accelerated, I became one of the first certified HIPAA Privacy and Security Officers in the Southeast. I spent the next few years on the road, passionately teaching “HIPAA in Daily Practice” — a course built around the book of the same name — to medical professionals hungry for clarity in a fast-changing landscape.
In 2004, I founded Medical Computer Associates with a mission: to empower private practices, medical billing companies, and hospitals with the I.T. infrastructure and security they desperately needed.
Then, in 2007, Critical Technologies was born — expanding our support into the public sector. We partnered with local and federal agencies, including 911 centers and even the FBI, to provide secure, dependable systems in moments that mattered most.
But it wasn’t until 2012, with the launch of FavGeek, that I discovered a new love: marketing. Through this retail I.T. support company, I saw the incredible potential of Google, and how digital tools could transform the way businesses connect with people.
That spark became a flame in 2015, when I founded Purple Tie Guys — a digital marketing agency devoted to helping healthcare providers across the Southeast thrive online. Today, we manage hundreds of clients, building bridges between patients and the professionals who care for them.
In 2019, I was honored to join Southern Medical Association as a marketing advisor, extending that same mission to a broader audience of healthcare leaders.
As a certified Google Partner — with credentials in Google Ads and Google Analytics — I continue to lead Purple Tie Guys as a Google Trusted Agency. But perhaps most rewarding of all is sharing what I’ve learned with others. From London to Bangkok, and in nearly every state in the U.S., I’ve taught digital marketing to audiences large and small, driven by the belief that technology is most powerful when it serves people.

I’m a classically trained artist who found my voice through graphite and charcoal — the raw, tactile beginnings of a lifelong love for visual storytelling. Over time, my journey evolved. I dove into the world of 3D modeling and animation, bringing still images to life and pushing the boundaries of what I could create.
Curiosity led me further — from the art studio to the digital frontier. I taught myself HTML and CSS, learning how to build beautiful, functional experiences on the web. Today, I focus my craft on the three leading content management systems: WordPress, Joomla, and Drupal. These platforms allow me to blend design with strategy, helping brands and nonprofits connect meaningfully with their audiences.
Art and design aren’t just skills for me — they’re a way of life. I’ve been professionally trained in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro, and I use them to create impactful visuals that leave a lasting impression.
My work has taken me across the Southeast, producing promotional videos for a wide range of clients — including an award-winning piece for the Boys & Girls Club of North Alabama. I’ve also had the privilege of working closely with nonprofit organizations to craft compelling press kits that help share their mission with the world.
As a certified Google Partner, I bring a strategic edge to every project, backed by certifications in Google Ads and Google Analytics. I don’t just create — I analyze, adapt, and optimize, always striving to make every piece of work more effective and meaningful than the last.
